Yes, classes are officially finished for the year. You can imagine, lots of shouts of relief, and tears of not seeing your friends for two months. Vacation always brings lots of changes, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens this year. I'm still not sure of the exact schedule, but many of the kids will be working all day (in the houses, on the farm, on grounds, in the bakery, etc.). For the younger kids there will be activities. I am teaching an American cooking class, there is a Mexican cooking class, crafts, and hammock making I believe. And all the kids will be involved in a sport. Looks like I'll probably be teaching some piano lessons too.
On Friday I went shopping for ingredients for my class, and on the way back we stopped by a science fair, held at the university of one of our employees. She is studying computers (not exactly sure what area), and they had to do projects involving programming. It was really neat the things they came up with. There was also a special lecture by a representative of Microsoft, talking about Windows 7. We were only able to hear a little bit, but it was very interesting.
So we are feeling the effects of Hurricane Ida. Apparently it hit land in Honduras and we got the rain over here. It rained all day yesterday, but today there's a bit of sunshine. It's supposed to start to rain again tomorrow though. It's bad when it rains on Sabbath because there are big holes in the roof of the church (gym) and so we get wet when it rains. A lot of the houses and other buildings are full of cracks too. Thankfully my room is nice and dry. I got invited to the doctor's house for pupusas last night. Always a treat. By the way, in case you were wondering, Lucille Ball is just as funny in Spanish as in English :)
Matthew 9:36-38 (New International Version)
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Always nice to have a different routine for awhile. Holes in the roofs are not cool though--hope you guys don't get rained on too much!
We're praying for harvesters too! Keep up the good work, Mandy!
